Owned and operated by the Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority, the Trash Museum features 6,500 square feet of educational exhibits about the history and methods of garbage disposal. Visitors can learn about the inner workings of town dumps, watch different types of containers get recycled at the Container Processing Facility, and discover new technologies involving trash reduction and storage. The museum lies on the outskirts of town, near the Hartford-Brainard Airport.
